Who Was Yehuda Leib Gordon? Yehuda Leib Gordon (1830–1892) was a prominent Hebrew poet, writer and educator, and one of the leading figures of the Haskalah, the Jewish Enlightenment. He played an important role in the revival of modern Hebrew literature and was known for his poetry, essays and advocacy for education and cultural modernization. His work had a significant influence on the development of modern Hebrew literary culture.
